With nearly 40 years in the music industry, Roger Daltrey knows a little about what it takes to make a great lead singer. However, he doesn’t feel like most of today’s contemporary artists have what it takes. One thing he blames? American Idol.

“A lot of the new people they choose on shows like ‘American Idol’ and things like that – I don’t ever hear lead singers,” Daltrey said in a pollstar.com interview. “They always seem to choose to pick people that are great singers, fabulous singers, but they’ve never got the voice that makes a great lead singer.”

According to Daltrey, some of the best singers are Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Eddie Vedder and one interesting exception: Adele.

Daltrey shared his views earlier this month while promoting “Roger Daltrey Performs The Who’s Tommy,” which wraps up on Oct. 25 in Seattle.

Additional Roger Daltrey tickets are available for Oct. 11 in Cedar Park, Texas; Oct. 12 in Grand Prairie, Texas; Oct. 14 in Kansas City, Mo., and more.

It’s been a busy past 14 months for The Who’s Roger Daltrey. Between solo and group gigs, and a surgery scare, he’s remained optimistic.

In October-November 2009, Roger Daltrey went on his first solo tour in nearly 20 years. Just as he was getting back in the swing of things, he underwent surgery to remove a pre-cancerous growth from his vocal chords. After nearly a two-month long recovery, he was back on stage for The Who performing the Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show.

In the summer of 2010, Daltrey continued with a handful of solo tour dates as well as a collaborative tour with Eric Clapton.

After a couple months of lying low, Daltrey is back this month with a gig scheduled on Jan. 17 at the New York City B.B. King Blues Club for “Rock n Roll Fantasy Camp with Mark Farner and more.” Don’t miss your chance to see this legendary rocker live, get your Roger Daltry tickets today!

Roger Daltrey has been a man on the road this summer. In a recent interview between gigs, he talks about his music today and what the future holds for The Who.

When it came to the question of should fans expect any new music from the duo, Daltrey simply responded, “That’s Pete’s department.” Despite the vague answer, they both are the first to say that The Who will carry on.

Currently Pete Townsend is battling tinnitus, which has kept the band on hiatus. On the flip side, Roger is making the most of it, “I’ve got to keep singing our songs. No one really plays our music. It’s a shame.”

This summer fans can catch Daltrey teaming up with Eric Clapton. He confesses that he has always wanted to work with the rock legend and has hopes that this summer pairing will lead to future collaborations.

There are rumors that The Who will in fact be taking to the road in 2011, restoring their 1973 Quadrophenia Tour. But again, it all lies in the ears of Pete.

Keep checking back as more Roger Daltry and The Who news develops.

Roger Daltry’s “Use It Or Lose It” tour has ended, and now he’s back with The Who, gearing up for the Super Bowl. The rock and roll band will perform in the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show. It will be held at the Dolphin Stadium in South Florida on Sunday, Feb. 7. It’s official.

However, what’s not official is what the set list is going to be. As such, NFL.com has put together six options for you to guess on and share your comments. They are:

Playlist A: My Generation, Pinball Wizard, Won’t Get Fooled Again
Playlist B: Who Are You, My Generation, Can’t Explain
Playlist C: I Can See For Miles, My Generation, Won’t Get Fooled Again
